Lion Roars Joins #SleepOutToHelpOut Campaign

South Africa; known for its mesmerising beauty, unique luxury, and unforgettable sights, has continuously allured local and foreign travelers to indulge in what it has to offer for as long as we can remember. Whether it be a blissful day soaking up the sun on Cape Town’s bespoke beaches, sipping on a glass of fine wine in Franschhoek Valley, or spending time with the beloved wildlife of Eastern Cape on a day safari, a vacation in South Africa is truly worth reminiscing.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in an unfortunate turn in South Africa’s flourishing tourism and hospitality industry. Through the implementation of the national lockdown, holiday plans were cancelled and the industry was forced to a complete halt. This has resulted in not only in the disappointment of avid travelers, but serious financial turmoil on the sector and its employees.
The Lion Roars Pride has joined in on the #SleepOutToHelpOut campaign, an initiative that encourages South African residents to stay at our lodges in order to restore the travel and hospitality industry.

Why this initiative?

Since the national lockdown, the tourism industry has faced losses of more than R748 million per day. One in 22 working South Africans are employed in the tourism industry and it is reported that 38% of accommodation providers have been forced to implement some degree of retrenchment. This has been a hard reality to face, and has urged us to take a stand.

What we are doing?

Following in the footsteps of Providence Hospitality, we are not only creating awareness regarding the effects of lockdown on the tourism and hospitality industry, but are also encouraging urgency within the South African community to make use of our lodges as this helps keep the industry alive through your help. We have also implemented an exciting SA Residents Special , which allows South African residents to enjoy a stay with us with an unbelievable saving of 60% until the 30 September 2021!
